Getting a screen back on track

Most problems come down to one of a handful of causes. Start here before you drive to the site.

Troubleshooting

Common situations

The screen shows the pairing code again

The device lost its pairing, usually because it was deleted in the dashboard. Add it again with the code shown.

The screen says it is offline

The player cannot reach the API. Check the network on the device itself — the offline screen shows the Display ID and retry count to help.

Content is not updating

Confirm the screen is toggled on for that device and that a schedule window covers the current time. Push-now bypasses scheduling entirely.

One zone is blank

That zone probably has no media assigned, or every clip in it failed to load. Check the project layout for that layer.

A video will not play

Try a standard H.264 MP4. Very high bitrates can exceed what a cheap player can decode.

The screen sleeps overnight unexpectedly

Check the wakelock schedule in the screen settings, which can be set to sleep at a chosen time.
